Create something to look forward to.
Most of us, at some time or another, have fallen into the habit of looking backwards.
We may lament a breakup, shake our head at a mistake we made, or cringe at something awful we said.
But even worse, when difficult times fall upon us, we may look backwards and think about those days as the best days of our lives.
Well, I have done my fair share of all of these. And I’m here to tell you that it isn’t the true way.
It isn’t the alpha way!
Our objective should always be to create something to look forward to!
This not only makes us happier, it also gives us hope.
As an added bonus, it makes us more attractive to potential mates as well!
Here’s why.
Creating A Future Makes Us Happier Because It Gives Us A Purpose

Living life without a purpose is like being adrift in a boat without a rudder.
It makes us miserable, makes us feel lost, and causes confusion!
If all we are doing is looking backwards in life, how can we aspire to do anything better in the future?
Think about it like this.
How can you successfully pilot your boat, and master the currents of your future, if your gaze is continuously focused on the water behind you?
Yes, there are probably some lessons to be learned in your past. But continuing to focus on what you have already done, and where you have already been, only serves to stifle your forward progress in the here and now.
How Do You Make Yourself Look Forward To Something?
If you are having trouble finding anything to look forward to in your life, you may need to invest some time into creating something that your future-self will enjoy and appreciate.
For example, I have many goals and plans that I look forward to in my future.
- I want to be a hugely successful dating coach, author, and authority on human mating behavior
- I want to run many different types of businesses that I love and enjoy
- I want to own a castle one day (no joke… a real castle) where I can live gloriously with my family and tribe, with plenty of room for all of the people I love and care for
- I want to help people and make a dent in the universe, leaving a lasting legacy of greatness and hope for generations to come
These are all high mandates! With such lofty goals on my horizon, I don’t have time to focus on the past.
This helps me to stay focused on the future. Every day, I am working to create these things in my life. And to be honest, I am creating them specifically for my future self and my tribe…so that we can all enjoy the fruits of my labor in the years to come.
This keeps my focus strong, fills me with hope, and gives me a reason to be excited when I wake up in the morning!
Create Something To Look Forward To – To Give Yourself Hope For The Future

Start thinking about what would make you happy in the future.
I have one friend who actually wants to wake up every morning with NOTHING to do!
He has figured out exactly how much money he needs to have in his investment portfolio to make that happen.
So saving up the money to make it real is his primary goal in life.
To date, he has already saved up about 1/6th of the money!
Every day, he is working to fill his accounts with the cash he will need to retire… and he is only 24!
How Do You Create Something To Look Forward To?
Figure out what you want your future to look like.
What kind of business do you want to be running?
What do you want to build or create in your life?
What do you want to be an expert in?
How do you want to be making a dent in the universe, and leaving your mark upon the world?
What do you want to be remembered for?
What are you passionate about? How do you want to spend the rest of your life? What kinds of projects do you want to be working on, and how do you want to change the world?
These are really the most important questions.
Figure out what you want to create, and start working on it today!
Start laying that groundwork for what you want your future to look like now.
We only have so much time, ladies and gentlemen.
For me, I want to be the foremost authority on dating and human mating behavior in the modern world.
So every day, I am…
- Writing articles, making videos, and recording podcasts about dating
- Reading books about human mating behavior
- Dating and getting real-world experience to help level-up my understanding and learn from my mistakes
- Talking to other men and women around me, to gain a better understanding of how their dating lives are going, why they are doing what they are doing, etc.
I am building my kingdom, one stone at a time.
Brick by brick, we build our empire!
But if you don’t start creating your future today, you are going to flounder.
If you want to look forward to your future, you need to start working today to create something to look forward to!
Why Does Looking Forward In Life Make Us More Attractive?

Because life is short, and full of trouble.
And potential partners want to know that we are not has-beens. They want to know that there are things in life that mean something to us.
They also want to know that we have plans, goals, and aspirations.
They want to know that the partner they choose is going to have something to live for.
They want to know that you have a sense of purpose and meaning in your life.
If you want to get technical about it, this probably all goes back to survival instinct.
Men don’t want a sad woman who only mourns previous heartbreaks.
Women don’t want a sad man who is only happy when he is recalling scenes from his past.
Both men and women want their partner to be not just present in the moment, but to also be working toward something better in the future.
It really all comes down to hope. Hope is so powerful… and yet, so few people are aware of just how much it actually means to them.
It is almost subconscious.
In Conclusion
Hopefully, this post has helped you to understand why it is so much better to look forward than backwards.
As alpha men and women, our goal is to be aware of our mortality, and working continuously, day in and day out, to create a lasting legacy of greatness.
This is how we leave our mark upon the world.
Follow your purpose, pursue your passion, and start working toward future goals that excite you!
Go with grace, my friends, and never give up your power.
Until next time…
