5 Better Ways To Take Control Of Your Life – The Alpha Male Perspective

How do you take control of your life?

This might sound like an innocent-enough question. But in truth, it is a pretty serious inquiry. 

We have from the time we wake up in the morning, until the time we go to bed, to manage our life and create our destiny. 

The truth is that nobody is going to organize your life for you

Nobody is going to save you from chaos, or from your own bad habits and self-destructive tendencies. 

And so, if we want to take control of our lives, and live victoriously instead of succumbing to defeat, we need to learn to take the reigns and regain control of our destiny. 

And in this post, I’m going to share 5 alpha-male tips for making that happen. 

1 – Figure Out What You Actually Want

A lot of people focus only on why they are not happy

Some of the most common reasons tend to be things like… 

  • I don’t have enough money
  • I feel trapped in my life
  • I’m not happy in my marriage/relationship
  • I don’t like how I look
  • I hate my job

The goal of my blog and mission, which I call the alpha male journey, is to help men win with women by showing them how to become higher-value men

Because when you start to level up and become a man of high value, you not only learn the true way to live victoriously… but you also become a lot more desirable to women at the same time

And one of the biggest turn-offs for women is a man who doesn’t know what he wants. 

When we don’t know what we want, we tend to be wishy-washy. We teeter-totter back and forth between different choices, never fully committing to anything. 

So instead of focusing on what you don’t like about your life, start figuring out what you actually want.

Then, take small steps forward to start making that goal a reality.  

2 – Adopt Healthier Morning Habits

A lot of people get motivated and want to change. But then, morning hits… and bad habits quickly suck them in! 

The thing to understand about healthy morning habits is that they tend to be different for everyone

You have to figure out what helps you in life, and what makes you perform better. 

For example… for me, I used to have a really bad habit of looking at social media as soon as I woke up. I would literally scroll through it while I was still getting up!

What a waste of time!

I could do a million better things with this time. 

I could do push ups, listen to a song that will get me pumped for the day, lay out my clothes and make sure that I’m going to look good, turn around and make the bed before allowing myself to even check my phone, etc. 

I still have a hard time with this. But it is a habit that I am becoming more aware of. And the reason that I am becoming so aware of it, is that I realize that it is a time waster. 

And that’s the whole key. 

If you want to take control of your life, you need to start eliminating habits that just waste time

Instead, adopt habits that get you in the mood to work toward your goals! 

3 – Take Responsibility, Every Day, For Putting Yourself Into The Proper Mindset To Fight And Win Battles

I face battles every single day. 

I have taxes to pay. I have projects to finish. I have things around the house that need to get done. I have new proposals to write. I have blog stuff to work on. I have emails to respond to. I have exercise to do. 

These things might not seem like battles, but they are. And if I want to achieve the goals I’ve set for myself, I need to conquer them, one at a time. 

And the best way to do that is to make sure that I prepare myself, every day, to face these battles. 

This means that I need to motivate myself.

It means that I need to go to bed early instead of staying up late watching shows. It means that I need to eat a nutritional breakfast that will fuel me up for the day instead of slowing me down. 

It means that I need to prepare my mindset. I need to visualize the why before I do

Why do I write this blog post?

Because it is going to help me to achieve my goals… and that motivates me! 

4 – Write Down The Daily Tasks You Want To Achieve

This is such a hard habit for me to stick to with any kind of consistency. But it is such a powerful habit… and whenever I start doing it regularly, I really start leveling up! 

When you wake up, pick out 3, 4, or 5 things you need to get done today. 

This could be… 

  • Showing up for work 10 minutes early
  • Putting on some laundry when you get home
  • Logging on and paying a bill online
  • Working on your book, art project, music, blog, etc.
  • Showing more kindness to the people around you than you did yesterday

Obviously this will differ from person to person. 

For me, today, my to-do list looks like this. 

  1. Take a walk
  2. Eat a healthy breakfast
  3. Listen to a motivational podcast
  4. Write a blog
  5. Get some writing work done
  6. Start preparing new proposals for some other projects
  7. Workout

If I get all of these things done, I will consider it a very productive day! 

Writing down our daily goals is the simplest way to provide ourselves with some kind of plan. 

And a plan gives your life order and meaning, by reducing the chaos of reactive thinking. 

So, we attack the day with an awesome plan, instead of just ‘winging it’ and leaving it up to chaos. 

5 – Avoid People Who Do Not Take Control Of Their Own Lives

This is a hard truth that not many people will want to hear. 

But if you tend to spend most of your time around people who don’t have their lives under control, then it is highly unlikely that you are going to succeed in bringing order to yours. 

The people we spend time with have a lot more influence over our behavior than any of us would like to admit. 

And so, I try to spend as much time as possible with people who have their lives more together than mine is

Why? Because being around them is a wakeup call for me. It makes me think “damn, I need to get my act together!”

And that is a very, very good thing! 

Those types of people might make you feel a little uncomfortable and intimidated at first… but it is in this discomfort that we realize we have room to grow and improve.

And then, we are more motivated to do it!

These are obviously just the ‘tip’ of the ice-berg. There are many more things that you can do to level up your life and bring more order to your destiny. 

And the more order we manage to achieve in life, the more we can get accomplished. 

And that brings us closer and closer to succeeding at the things we want to succeed at.
